Crews working on the 94-acre Worthington Rd. Fire, 2 miles east of Eagle Point, have completed a fireline and are mopping up the perimeter. Two crews, four engines and a water tender are assigned to fire today. A faller is cutting down dangerous snags so crews can extinguish hotspots along the fire’s northern edge, which remains the fire’s most active area.
The cause of the fire is being investigated. The fire is located on public land managed by the Bureau of Land Management, which is protected by the Oregon Dept. of Forestry.
Light rainshowers are falling on the fire this morning.
