Thunderheads loomed large late Tuesday along the Oregon-California border but no lightning crept into Jackson or Josephine counties’ forestlands. As such, no lightning-caused fires were reported overnight on lands protected by the Oregon Dept. of Forestry’s Southwest Oregon District. Yesterday’s thunderstorms veered east into Klamath County, then went north-northwest into Douglas and Lane counties.
Today, the National Weather Service says there is a slight chance of thunderstorms in the southern Cascades with most of the lightning predicted to take place in Klamath and Lake counties.
